Services was founded by
Peter Edwards, a
retired Police Officer, who served 30 years with the Gloucestershire
Constabulary. For 26 years he served as a Traffic Officer policing all types of
road environments including the Motorway. Peter became an Accident Investigation
Officer in 1983 and served in this specialist capacity until his retirement.

During the final six years of his service Peter was a founding member of the
Force’s full time Collision Investigation Unit from its creation in 1999. He
served as Senior Collision Investigation Officer for the Force from 2002 until
2005. As SCIO he was responsible for representing the Force at Regional and
National Levels. He also had close liaison with the County Highways and Fire
Service.
During his career Peter has been involved in the investigation of many hundreds
of accidents largely of a serious or fatal nature. As a result he has given
evidence numerous times as an Expert Witness in Crown, Magistrates, Civil and
Coroner’s Courts. He also has experience of criminal investigation into assaults
involving motor vehicles. He has further been involved in the investigation of
low speed whiplash injuries and fraudulently staged accidents for the insurance
industry.
Peter has lectured in the field of Accident Investigation to various bodies
including the emergency services, in particular, being involved in training
programmes of the Fire and Rescue Service, including lectures at the National
Fire College, Moreton in Marsh.
